Community Organizations Target Bullying Concerns with Symposium
Sioux City, IA, October 27, 2010 – The fight against bullying takes center stage at the Orpheum Theatre. The Sioux City Human Rights Commission held an anti-bullying symposium called, Bullied in Siouxland Wednesday night.
The event covered everything from mental health to cyber-bullying with a panel of experts from Siouxland Mental Health, the Waitt Institute and both the Sioux City School District and police department.
The goal was to educate people about the issues that bullying presents in our schools, community, and workplaces.
Organizers also showed a special preview of the national documentary, "The Bully Project," an Emmy award winning film featuring kids from Sioux City and school districts across the country.
